Democrats To Bailout Teachers By Cutting Food Stamps

It looks like Obama hates poor people.
Obama and the Democrats continue their economy ruining bailouts by cutting food stamps from needy poor people, in order to bailout the teachers, the powerful Teachers Union, and other federal employees.

$12 billion will be stolen from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program that supports many poor people and their families, and given to teachers who mostly supported Democrats in the last election. Obama and the Democrats have been quickly losing support since taking office, and this action is timed specifically to slow down those losses of support, and give teachers and unions a reason to vote for Democrats in the next election.

Obama and the Democrats know that they are in big trouble in the next election, due to Obama’s job assassinating policies, so they are in a full-court press to try and gain back some of the support they lost from Blacks, Hispanics, Teachers, and unions in general. Obama and the Democrats know that they will lose both the House and the Senate if they don’t do something quick, and it looks like a teacher bailout is the next step in their plan to pull the wool over the eyes of many Americans.

Some Democrats are upset and advocacy groups are outraged over the raiding of the food-stamp cupboard to fund a state-aid bailout that some call a gift to teachers and government union workers.

House members convened Tuesday and passed the multibillion-dollar bailout bill for cash-strapped states that provides $10 billion to school districts to rehire laid-off teachers or ensure that more teachers won’t be let go before the new school year begins, keeping more than 160,000 teachers on the job, the Obama administration says.

But the bill also requires that $12 billion be stripped from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps, to help fund the new bill, prompting some Democrats to cringe at the notion of cutting back on one necessity to pay for another. The federal assistance program currently helps 41 million Americans.

I guess Obama doesn’t care if the poor people go hungry, as long as he gets more teachers and union members to vote for the them in the next election.

Obama Lied About Knowledge of Lockerbie Bomber Release

So now it looks like Obama Administration lied about their knowledge about the release of the Lockerbie terrorist bomber, who was released from prison after serving less than two weeks behind bars for each innocent person he slaughtered.

“Correspondence obtained by The Sunday Times reveals the Obama administration considered compassionate release more palatable than locking up Abdel Baset al-Megrahi in a Libyan prison.”

Obama lied about knowledge of the Lockerbie terrorist bomber's release from prison.

Obama lied about knowledge of the Lockerbie terrorist bomber's release from prison.

Obama wasn’t “surprised, disappointed and angry” as he claimed last week, and the Obama Administration actually tried to block the letter from being made public so they wouldn’t be caught in yet another lie.

As we wrote back on September 7th and 10th 2009:

Correspondence obtained by The Sunday Times reveals the Obama administration considered compassionate release more palatable than locking up Abdel Baset al-Megrahi in a Libyan prison.

The intervention, which has angered US relatives of those who died in the attack, was made by Richard LeBaron, deputy head of the US embassy in London, a week before Megrahi was freed in August last year on grounds that he had terminal cancer.

The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President Barack Obama’s claim last week that all Americans were “surprised, disappointed and angry” to learn of Megrahi’s release.

Scottish ministers viewed the level of US resistance to compassionate release as “half-hearted” and a sign it would be accepted.

The US has tried to keep the letter secret, refusing to give permission to the Scottish authorities to publish it on the grounds it would prevent future “frank and open communications” with other governments.

In the letter, sent on August 12 last year to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and justice officials, Mr LeBaron wrote that the US wanted Megrahi to remain imprisoned in view of the nature of the crime.

The note added: “Nevertheless, if Scottish authorities come to the conclusion that Megrahi must be released from Scottish custody, the US position is that conditional release on compassionate grounds would be a far preferable alternative to prisoner transfer, which we strongly oppose.”

Mr LeBaron added that freeing the bomber and making him live in Scotland “would mitigate a number of the strong concerns we have expressed with regard to Megrahi’s release”.

The US administration lobbied the Scottish government more strongly against sending Megrahi home, under a prisoner transfer agreement signed by the British and Libyan governments, in a deal now known to have been linked to a pound stg. 550 million oil contract for BP.

It claimed this would flout a decade-old agreement between Britain and the US that anyone convicted of the bombing would serve their sentence in a Scottish prison. Megrahi was released by Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill on the grounds that he had three months to live, making his sentence effectively spent.

The US Senate foreign relations committee launched a probe after The Sunday Times revealed this month that Megrahi’s doctors thought he could live for another decade.

A source close to the Senate inquiry said: “The (LeBaron) letter is embarrassing for the US because it shows they were much less opposed to compassionate release than prisoner transfer.”

Obama May Have Misused Science In Gulf Drilling Moratorium

A new investigation has started that is tasked with looking into the way that the Obama Administration misused scientists’ views to justify their job-killing Gulf oil drilling moratorium.

It is perfectly clear that the corrupt Obama Administration will do or say anything they need to in order to gain support to pass their economy and job-killing policies.

Allegations that scientists’ views were improperly used to justify a federal moratorium on deep-water drilling are being investigated, the Interior Department’s top watchdog says.

House Republicans who had sought the investigation released a letter Thursday from Acting Inspector General Mary Kendall confirming the probe.

Scientists who consulted with Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for a report on drilling safety this spring said the department falsely implied they had agreed to a “blanket moratorium.” The scientists said the drilling moratorium went too far and warned that it may have a lasting impact on the nation’s economy.

The Interior Department’s May 27 report, which called for the moratorium, said that its recommendations had been “peer-reviewed” by seven experts identified by the National Academy of Engineering.

Interior spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff said the experts were not asked to review or comment on the decision to implement the moratorium. They were asked only to review the 22 safety recommendations contained in the report on a technical basis, and they performed that task, she said.

The department has said previously that by listing the experts who had peer-reviewed those recommendations, it did not mean to imply that those experts also agreed with the moratorium.

Those assurances have done little to mollify a group of Republicans on the House Natural Resources Committee, who urged Kendall in a letter this week to launch the investigation.

“Were any laws broken?” asked the seven lawmakers, led by the committee’s top Republican, Doc Hastings of Washington. They also questioned whether the White House or political appointees had any influence.
